Drew Fontaine- Solar Energy Project

⟴Solar energy is a crazy science. It can be used to save the world! A man named Charles Fritts invented the solar panel. The solar panel is a device that converts solar energy into electricity. Solar panels are being used now, but are rapidly increasing in sales and will soon be a very prominent source of energy all throughout the world, though this invention is  They are being developed in many colleges, including MIT and Phoenix University. Solar panels are a great invention because they produce energy with very little harm to the environment and they are very cost-efficient. 


⟴Charles Fritts wanted to provide a renewable resource for the world that is not incredibly expensive. Solar energy is always going to be renewable because it is powered by the sun. Also, according to many different sources, Solar energy costs almost half of the average American energy source per watt. The Solar Panel will also have a great effect on the global community. They are so important because they provide a renewable, never ending, energy supply that does not harm the environment. The global community will have energy for the rest of their lives and their future ancestor's lives. Also, The Earth that everybody lives on will have much less pollution from energy sources if solar energy replaces these ordinary energy sources. Solar energy will revolutionize technology in the future. Scientist studying the effects of toxic energy sources (like petroleum) will have nothing left to study after solar panels have become popular. They would then pursue other issues and find solutions to those issues that could change the way life works. Solar energy will provide a cost-efficient energy source for science labs and other places with groundbreaking inventions to use while not going over their budget for electricity.

⟴Charles Fritts lived in New York at the time that he invented Solar Panels. He was an electrician in New York City, so he had a lot of work on his hands. During his days as an electrician, the city was being built up and the industrial revolution was starting. This amount of exposure to electricity that Fritts had was most likely a driving factor to why he wanted to build solar panels. He had so much experience in a coal-powered based city, that he needed to find a better alternative to coal. He saw how inefficient the coal and other nonrenewable resources were, and wanted to make an eco-friendly source of energy that was more cost-efficient. That is how his geography influenced Charles Fritt's invention of the Solar Panel.
