The Pantelligent

Pantelligent Smart Pan     The Pantelligent is the latest and most advanced frying pan. You don't even need to be a 5-star chef to cook the perfect steak. The smart pan uses heat sensors to measure the temperature and collect other data about whatever you're cooking. It transmits the data to a smartphone app via Bluetooth technology in the handle. The app uses the data to tell the user when to do each step in the recipe. The original idea for the Pantelligent was that of Humberto Evans and Mike Robbins, but Kyle Moss and Yuan Wei helped to develop it. It was developed at Circuit Lab Inc. for about $20,000, and it's currently being used in homes across America. The Pantelligent is helping take away the stress of cooking, one struggling chef at a time.

looks like while you're cooking.
Humberto Evans and Mike Robbins created the Pantelligent because they realized from personal experience that other people probably need help in the kitchen. According to Junnie Kwon, Humberto Evans cooked his own meals in college, while his best friend Mike Robbins could barely fry an egg. The only time Robbins would give up the lure of takeout was when Evans gave him step-by-step cooking instructions. They realized that other people probably struggle in the kitchen, and decided to create the Pantelligent to help them.

I think that the Pantelligent is important to the global community because it helps people become better cooks and better people. According to Junnie Kwon, the Pantelligent is already helping people become better chefs. It has taught Mike Robbins, one of the Pantelligent's inventors, how to cook his own meals, when he couldn't cook anything before. The Pantelligent is a humanist invention because it was created to help better the culinary world. It helps people learn to cook all different types of recipes to better their knowledge of food and cooking.

I think that the Pantelligent would have a positive impact on the world if it wasn't for the high cost. The Pantelligent is currently priced at $199. According to Tyler Lauletta, $199 is a high price to pay for just one pan. Also, according to Denny Arar, the Pantelligent isn't a product that everyone needs, which is why I think that it won't sell very well. I think the Pantelligent has the possibility to change the world if it becomes less expensive. The Pantelligent could also have a negative impact on the world because it could hurt the cooking industry. Regular pans probably won't sell very much if people start buying the Pantelligent. In conclusion, I don't think the Pantelligent will change the world, at least not now, because of the high cost and low demand for it.

The Pantelligent is kind of similar to the Renaissance invention the match. Both the match and the Pantelligent made cooking easier. The match made cooking easier because it made it a lot faster to make a fire. Then you could use the fire for cooking or keeping warm. The match was invented by Robert Boyle. Although they are somewhat similar, they are also very different. The Pantelligent is very safe and there is no reported accidents using it. On the other hand, the match is not safe and it accidentally went up in flames while in someones pocket.

    1. It was created in 2014. The inventors Kyle Moss and Yuan Wei are engineering graduates from Massachusetts institute of technology. I couldn't find anything about where they were from and how that could have influenced them at all, but Mike Robbins and Humberto Evans were the ones responsible for the idea of the pantelligent, Moss and Wei were just helping to fully develop it. They didn't have a big impact on it overall.

  2. You say that, I think that the Pantelligent is important to the global community because it helps people become better cooks and better people. Do you think that in the future that this invention could help people more than with just cooking?

    1. I think it could help people with more than just cooking because it helps relieve stress which can help a person be more focused and happier.

  3. When you said, "The smart pan uses heat sensors to measure the temperature and collect other data about whatever you're cooking. It transmits the data to a smartphone app via Bluetooth technology in the handle.", is there anyway you could elaborate more on how this works? I'm confused on why there is a need for a special pan when you could make an app that tells you exactly what to do.

    1. After the pan transmits the data to you're smartphone the app uses the data to tell you when to complete each step. For example if I'm making scallops the pan can figure out what the temperature on the inside of the scallops is and the app will figure out the exact time to flip them, so that they come out perfect. You could have just an app to tell you what to do but it wouldn't be able to give you exact times because it can't figure out if the meat you're cooking is done or not. You would have to cut into the meat to see if it's done which can dry out the meat. Most cookbooks give an estimated time that your dish will be done but the Pantelligent app gives you an exact time so that you don't have to guess.

  5. When you say "it helps people become better cooks and better people" what do you mean by better people? Please elaborate.

    1. This is similar to the other comment I got. As I said before the Pantelligent is proven to relieve stress which can help you be more focused and happier, which is why I said it can make you a better person.
