The Titan Arm

     When you were a little kid did you ever wanna be like Thor or Hercules? Well, with the help of students at the University of Pennsylvania you will be able to lift 40 pounds like its nothing, just like Thor or Hercules would. The Titan Arm is an exoskeleton that is used to strengthen the upper-body. The goal of this invention was to strengthen and rehabilitate those who have had strokes or have muscular problems. However that isn't the only use for this invention, the Titan Arm could also be used in job cites where the workers have to lift heavy objects, so they don't hurt themselves. The Titan Arm is in the process of being invented. It has been tested multiple times and works correctly. At the moment it is being edited, so when it is being let out for use in the future there are 100% no problems.

The Titan Arm will definitely help benefit people all around the world. It will help strengthen those who need help strengthening, and it will help rehabilitate those in need who have problems with their upper-body. The Titan Arm could also help scientists and doctors learn more about muscles and how they work. Also, it will help doctors figure out more way on how to strengthen muscles and make them heal faster and better than before. The Titan Arm could benefit science and doctors, nurses, and surgeons understanding of muscles.

Every year about 400-600 baby boys are born with muscular dystrophy. That's a big group of kids that have muscle strengthening problems. The Titan Arm can help all of those children get stronger and be able to use their muscles in everyday activities. There is a bigger population of strokes that lead to muscular problems, which means there's more people that could use the Titan Arm to help them get better and build up/regain their muscles. The students at the University of Pennsylvania created the Titan Arm to help people with these problems and to protect those who lift heavy objects for a living. It's goal is to help many people around the world build up their strength again and by using the Titan Arm this will happen.

The Titan Arm will benefit the whole world by strengthening people from all different countries and regions. American workers suffer upper-body injuries that cause 7,000 of lost productivity, and $50 billion dollars in treatment. The Titan Arm can help make sure that there will be less injuries in work environments, so it will be used in work cites. However, every invention has its pros and cons. A con that the Titan Arm could have would be, being too tight. When it's strapped to the person and attached to their arms it could be too tight and might even pinch the person. Another con would be the cost. The cost for the parts to make the Titan Arm are expensive, that means when the invention is released it will also be expensive. That could mean that not many people can afford the invention out of a large majority that need it. For the most part, the Titan Arm has pros, and barely any cons.

The Titan Arm is just like the Robotic Knight designed by Leonardo da Vinci, during the Italian Renaissance. The Robotic Knight was created during the Renaissance to make sure people fighting didn't get hurt, sort of like the Titan Arm is now a days. Both of these inventions are used to better humans understanding of the outline of the human body and its muscles. They will both be used to educate many people and to help many people not get hurt. Doctors and other people in the medical field will use the Titan Arm every day. The Titan Arm is a bigger, better version of the Robotic Knight, because it will not only be used to make sure people don't hurt themselves and their muscles, but it will be used to help people strengthen and heal their muscles. Da Vinci was one of the first people to cut open a dead body and investigate the insides so that he and everyone around him could learn more about the human body. After, he created the Robotic Knight with the knowledge he learned about the body. This means that many more creations could be created from the knowledge gained from the Titan Arm. Both, the Robotic Knight and the Titan Arm have and will impact the world greatly.

Overall the Titan Arm will benefit the world greatly in many different ways. It will better humans understanding of the body. Also, it will make sure that people in work environments don't hurt themselves. Then, it will strengthen and help those in need who have muscular problems or who have hurt themselves in the past and need to strengthen their upper-body. The Titan Arm is a great invention and will be used all around the world and will help millions of people from all different regions of the world.

  1. You say that the Titan Arm can help strengthen individuals with muscular problems, but what makes the Titan Arm better than some methods that doctors already use today like physical therapy, surgery, or medication?

    1. The Titan Arm will be more efficient and less likely to have complications rather than a surgery, also it will work faster and you would see more long term improvement than you would doing normal physical therapy or taking medication. Also, it will be less risky and expensive than a surgery, and will have less symptoms than taking medication.

    1. The Titan Arms cons would be if the arm is too tight on the body, it could weigh it down or pinch the persons arm which could hurt. The pros will be helping to strenghten the upper-body of the person and help to make sure people in work places that carry heavy boxes don't hurt themselves.

  4. You say that the Titan arm can lift up to 40 lbs, and in order to do this, there has to be a strong metal to support the weight. The metal arm could be a bit heavy and taxing on the shoulder. How could this be prevented and how can Titan arms be more comfortable to the user?
